Husky Energy to Discuss West White Rose Project at Noia Oil & Gas Conference

St. John’s, NL (June 6, 2017) — The Newfoundland and Labrador Oil & Gas Industries Association (Noia) is pleased to announce that Malcolm Maclean, Husky Energy Senior Vice President, Atlantic Region and Richard Pratt, Husky Energy Vice President, Atlantic Region Developments, will both be speaking at the 2017 Noia Oil & Gas Conference. This is especially timely following the May 29 sanction of the West White Rose extension project.

The Noia Oil & Gas Conference is Canada’s flagship offshore oil & gas industry information event, attracting global oil & gas industry leaders as both speakers and delegates. Themed Offshore Newfoundland: Relevant, Untapped & Resilient, the 2017 conference will once again deliver the latest updates on exploration, production and development activities in Canada’s offshore oil & gas industry and offer over 1,000 delegates the opportunity to partake in discussions about timely industry issues and participate in unparalleled networking opportunities.

Senior Vice President Malcolm Maclean will provide an overview of drilling and production performance, exploration opportunities, plus an update on the White Rose field and satellite extensions, including the recently sanctioned White Rose Extension Project. This session is taking place on Tuesday, June 20 at 10:40 a.m. at the St. John’s Convention Centre.

Vice President Richard Pratt will be a participant in this year’s panel discussion focusing on our untapped resources – how we can maximize these near-term opportunities efficiently and effectively. Framed by a presentation delivered by the C-NLOPB, the panel will discuss how marginal and small shallow water fields can be made economically competitive; evolving thinking on cost reduction, especially in supply chain and project management; implications for existing projects and asset life in the Jeanne d’Arc Basin; and the role of technology in shaping future prospects. This session is taking place on Wednesday, June 21 at 8:30 a.m. at the St. John’s Convention Centre.
