Arild Selvig has developed extensive knowledge of the oil & gas industry, from both the operator and supplier sides, from 28 years working in the industry,
The first half of Selvig’s career was spent focused on engineering and management along the entire E&P value chain within Norsk Hydro, while the second half was within FMC Technologies, focused on business development strategies for subsea processing technologies and later for subsea production systems. Prior to his current role, he served as director of sales and marketing for FMC Technologies Subsea Eastern region, including responsibilities for strategies, business development and new business initiatives.
Selvig has served as chair of the Norwegian Petroleum Society (2011-2015) and FMC Eurasia (2009-2016) and is currently chair of the Offshore Northern Seas (ONS) Foundation. He holds an M.Sc in petroleum technology from the Norwegian Institute of Technology and a master’s degree in technology management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Sloan School of Management.
