Project Director – ENI Coral South FLNG Project, Lloyd’s Register
Daryl Attwood has been stationed in Paris in his current position since November 2018. The 400+ metre long facility will be moored offshore Mozambique for at least 25 years starting in 2022.
Daryl also works part time for the LR Foundation, Lloyds’ charitable arm, which supports safety and science education. His foundation work is in three areas – the safe and responsible future use of the world’s oceans, and safety in the fishing and passenger ferry industries.
Daryl has spent most of his 28 years with Lloyd’s Register managing oil & gas projects, including the Shell Prelude FLNG project in Geoje, Korea; the Kashagan project in Kazakhstan; and two Canadian projects – Deep Panuke and Sable.
He has also performed several other roles with Lloyd’s Register in Canada, the United Kingdom and The Netherlands – a ship and offshore surveyor, lead quality assessor, naval ships business manager and EMEA development manager.
Born in St John’s, Daryl holds a master’s degree in iceberg motion and a PhD in oil & gas safety technology. He has published a book on oil & gas occupational accident frequency and a chapter in a second, related to process safety regulation.
