Honourable Siobhan Coady
Minister of Natural Resources, Government of Newfoundland and Labrador
Siobhan Coady is Newfoundland and Labrador’s minister of natural resources, MHA for St. John’s West, deputy government house leader, chair of the provincial government’s economic policy committee and a member of Treasury Board.
Prior to joining provincial politics, from 2008 to 2011, she was the federal Liberal Member of Parliament for the riding of St. John’s South–Mount Pearl.
Recognized as one of the top 50 CEOs in Atlantic Canada, Coady has owned and operated companies as diverse as Newfound Genomics Inc., a leading biotechnology company; Bonaventure Fisheries, a privately-held fish harvesting company; and Novocom, an international resource procurement company with partners throughout Asia and Australia.
Coady is past chair and governor of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce and past president of the St. John’s Board of Trade. She is an alumna of Memorial University of Newfoundland, Oxford University and the University of Toronto and is an accredited director of the Institute of Corporate Directors and an Accredited Public Relations (APR) professional.
