Joy Romero has worked in steel, iron ore, coal and oil & gas. She is a professional engineer, holds an MBA from the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business and is a director of the Institute of Corporate Directors.
Ms. Romero has served as a school trustee, chair of the Governing Council of Athabasca University – as well as chair of that university’s Business Leaders Advisory Council – and advisor to several chairs of NSERC, the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada.
She is a past member of the Science, Technology & Innovation Council for Canada and is currently chair of the Clean Resource Innovation Network, a board member of Canada’s Oilsands Innovation Alliance, the Petroleum Technology Alliance of Canada and Wavefront, as well as a member of the Kinetica Ventures Advisory Council and the Faculty of Science Dean’s Circle for the University of Calgary.
