Study Manager, Aker Solutions
Knut Engebretsen has more than 30 years of experience within Aker companies, most recently in the development of unmanned FPSOs and LEAN FPSOs, as well as study management for other multi-discipline front end studies.
Mr. Engebretsen has experience as an engineering manager for the front end engineering design of normally unmanned tension leg platforms for Western Australia, as well as the design of floating structures, such as tension-leg platforms, semi, FPSO and bridges in fjord crossings. His experience includes management of all project phases from conceptual engineering, front end engineering, detail engineering, fabrication and execution of marine operations. He has been engaged in supporting Husky Energy with supplementary marine operation assessments for West White Rose.
Mr. Engebretsen holds a dual Master of Science degree in mechanical and ocean engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and has worked as a visiting scholar with Stanford University’s Reliability of Marine Structures program.
