Phil Simons has more than 20 years’ experience in the subsea pipelines business. His career began in 1992 as an engineer in London for pipeline installation contractors and operators, European Marine Contractors, where he later became a senior project manager.
In 2004, Mr. Simons joined Subsea 7 in Aberdeen as a senior project manager, progressing through the business to become the vice president for Canada, Mediterranean and Russia in 2011. He became the chief operating officer for U.K. & Canada and subsequently vice president for U.K. & Canada in 2013, before taking up the role of vice president for North Sea Canada in 2016. Recently, he has been appointed senior vice president projects and operations for SURF and conventional.
Mr. Simons also holds a position on the board of Oil & Gas UK and is chair for the Oil & Gas UK Efficiency Task Force, which looks to promote and provide access to efficient practice across the oil & gas industry.
Mr. Simons is a graduate of Leeds University where he studied mining engineering.
