Station Manager, DNV GL
Richard Kennedy has over 20 years of work experience in the shipping and offshore Industries. He has been involved in C-NLOPB and C-NSOPB certificate of fitness activities for production, drill rig, diving and well intervention installations. From 1997 to 1998, he worked in Houston for the American Bureau of Shipping, servicing the shipping industry. In 1998, he joined DNV GL in Halifax and is currently station manager of the DNV GL St. John’s office.
Richard’s work history and experience with DNV GL has been primarily certifying authority, classification and flag state services. He is a principal surveyor with DNV GL, involved in offshore newbuild projects and surveying offshore drill rigs, FPSOs and offshore supply vessels. He has a very thorough knowledge in the certificate of fitness process and has been involved with most of the offshore installations where DNV GL is classification society and certifying authority.
Richard Kennedy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in ocean and naval architecture engineering from Memorial University of Newfoundland. He will speak during the Day Two Technical Sessions on June 19.
